Welcome to Java To Go!

Hello, readers, and welcome to Java To Go! JavaWorld has traditionally focused on the nuts and bolts of the platform; this blog will take a look at the people behind the tech. I’ll be keeping my eye on the dramas brewing within the Java community — who’s launching a new startup, who’s leaving their high-profile job for an even higher-profile one, who’s penning diatribes for his or her blog that have Java developers cheering, or jeering, or scratching their heads. And I’ll be offering my own opinion on developments in the process. But as Liz Smith will tell you, you can’t run a gossip blog without tips! And that’s where you come in. I’d love to hear your opinion on the dramas going on in Java world. Picked up a juicy tidbit on that JavaOne floor? Heard something through the grapevine? Drop me a line at javatips@javaworld.com. Of course, if any of the items in the blog pique your interest, you’re more than welcome to chime in on the comments; I’ll probably follow up on particularly interesting or cogent comments in a later blog post. So watch this space! The first batch of posts should be coming your way tomorrow. And you can follow along with the blog’s RSS feed. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
