Exodus of Sun talent at just the wrong time?

Apparently JavaFX is the first thing I’ve become slightly too obsessed with in the course of this blog. I guess it’s because I’m an old fogey who is not convinced of the whole Rich Internet Application concept in the first place. Don’t take it personal, Sun! If this were “Adobe To Go” I’d probably be scratching my head over Flex. But speaking of JavaFX’s Adobe rival, John Rose at InfoQ and Dion Almaer both note that engineers are trickling away from Sun … to Adobe, of all places. Almaer goes on to note that his most common conversation at JavaOne was “Cool to see everyone, but I don’t get JavaFX.” And with that, barring major developments, I’ll stop talking about it, I promise. (And for fairness, here’s Chris Oliver on where JavaFX is going and why it’s a good thing.)
