In defense of C

For most computer programmers of a certain age, the path to a job in IT started with programming in C or a similar language that required you to know about things like thread safety and memory pointers. Even if you now do almost all of your work in Java, that C foundation is still with you, right? Well, a lot of younger folks are coming into the industry having been weaned on Java itself. Are they missing out on something? Darren Stokes thinks so. Stokes is a Visual Studio and .Net developer but much of what he says is cogent to the Java world as well. What’s your opinion?
