Web4J is an up and coming minimalist Java web application framework — or at least one that hopes to be up and coming. There’s extensive discussion of it over here at TheServerSide.com. Anyway, obviously when you’re up and coming you gun for those who are already on top, but I was charmed by this page on the Web4J website, which offers criticisms of its competition. In particular, there’s this starting line: “The Spring Framework is popular. It has also met with a disturbing lack of criticism.” The emphasis is in the original. I love the implication that because nobody criticizes it, there’s obviously something terribly, terribly wrong. Does it download mind-viruses via subliminal messages on your computer screen, turning you into a slavish, Spring-loving zombie? Is it at the forefront of a worldwide alien invasion? THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. Software Development
