My friend Ken Sipe often gives a presentation entitled “So you want to be an Architect” where he explores the role of an architect — a lot of people attend this talk so I was most interested in catching up with him to discuss this subject in more detail. In this most recent podcast for IBM developerWorks Java technology zone technical podcast series, Ken offers his thoughts on this broad and often vague role, the experience you need and path you must follow to achieve the level of architect, and what lies beyond it. Have a listen and don’t forget to see Ken speak at a conference near you –he’s a lot of fun to listen to!
