Motorola and Visto partner to promote mobile computing

Visto now develops applications to enable wireless access to corporate e-mail, calendar, and contacts through Motorola handsets with Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition technology. Users download the Visto desktop companion to achieve wireless access to messaging applications. For larger organizations, the Visto mLynx Enterprise Server is available.

TraceBack debugs Java apps

InCert Software has launched TraceBack 1.0 for Java, a program that detects and alerts operations personnel to hung or crashed applications. Embedded into the application, TraceBack catches crashes and hangs, freezes the disruptive code, and delivers a root cause analysis of the code problems causing the fault.

O’Reilly releases Java Cookbook

Patterned after Perl Cookbook, the Java Cookbook by Ian F. Darwin is a collection of hundreds of solutions to problems that Java programmers frequently face. Cirquet develops and deploys distributed apps

Improv Technologies has released the alpha version of Cirquet, the company’s platform for the development, deployment, and management of distributed applications. With Cirquet, software developers can dynamically assemble Java software components, including JavaBeans and Enterprise JavaBeans, into custom applications at run-time.

Spectrum Software launches Java-based SCM product

Spectrum Software has released SpectrumSCM, a platform-portable system of integrated source configuration management (SCM) tools. SpectrumSCM includes tools for version control, release management, process control management, branching, and issue tracking.
