Jetson simplifies J2EE development

A free, pre-release version of Jetson is now available. Developed by DataSource, Jetson is an application development toolset that enables the creation of J2EE applications without requiring J2EE programming skills. The product will be commercially available in fall 2004.

Sun updates JWSDP

Sun has announced the availability of Java Web Services Developer Pack 1.4, its toolkit for developing, testing, and deploying XML applications, Web services, and Web applications. This latest version implements the WS-I Basic Profile 1.1 with WS-I Attachments Profile 1.0, which adds support for sending attachments with SOAP messages.

Apache announces Maven 1.0

Excelsior JET 3.6 released for Windows and Linux

Excelsior JET is a JVM enhanced with ahead-of-time compilation. Version 3.6 includes a new JIT (just-in-time) compiler, preliminary support for the J2SE 5 beta, and support for the latest J2SE 1.3.x and 1.4.y microversions.
