Huawei Technologies has won a contract to build a 3G (third-generation) mobile network for Vodafone Group’s subsidiary in the Czech Republic, Huawei said Tuesday.

The deal is the first such project awarded to Huawei since it was selected as a preferred supplier for Vodafone in November last year, Huawei said. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 3G network will be built using W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) technology, Huawei said.
