South Korean vendor expands beyond Asia in security deal with major Mexican bank South Korea’s leading anti-virus vendor AhnLab has landed a deal with a major Mexican bank as it looks to expand beyond Asia.The company will supply online anti-virus, keyboard security, anti-spyware and online firewall applications to Banco Nacional de México S.A. (Banamex), it said in a statement. With 1,500 branches and about 2 million customers Banamex is one of the largest banks in Mexico and was acquired by Citigroup in 2001.AhnLab said the deal allows it to establish a strategic base for expansion into South American markets. The company entered into a partnership with Damage Control Inc. last year under which the Mexican company would help sell its products in major central and south American markets including Mexico, Chile and Brazil, AhnLab said.The company is also looking to expand into Europe and last year took its first step into the European market by appointing a dealer in the Netherlands.
