Entry-level NAS device will come in 160GB and 250GB configurations Iomega Corp. is soon expected to ship its first network-attached storage (NAS) device based on wireless networking technology.Called the NAS 100d, the product will be marketed as an entry-level NAS device designed for small office and home office users looking for an inexpensive storage device to put on their networks, Iomega said in an e-mail statement.The NAS appliance, which is already listed as available for order on a number of online retailers, will come in 160GB and 250GB configurations and will have built-in support for the 802.11g wireless networking standard. It will feature a simple user interface that will allow users to do automatic backups and “drag-and-drop” file restoration. The device will also come with two USB 2.0 ports so that additional storage can be added to the appliance, Iomega said.The 160GB version of the device has a retail price of $499 according to a listing on computer seller PCNation’s Web site.Iomega declined to provide further comment on this story, beyond its original e-mail statement.
