Privately held company makes tools for IT efficiency

Veritas Software has acquired process automation software maker Invio Software for $35 million in cash, it announced Wednesday.

Invio is a privately held, Los Altos, California-based company. Its software allows users to improve IT efficiency by automating certain tasks. The process automation technology already ships as part of Veritas’ CommandCentral Service 4.0 product.

The acquisition has already been completed. As part of the deal, the majority of Invio’s work force of 35 will become employees of Mountain View, California-based Veritas, a Veritas spokeswoman said.
