Ignite Technologies delivers video across networks, IMlogic issues new version to detect worms early, Aprimo arms marketing suite with reusable architecture, and Scalix enhances calendaring Ignite Communicator Uses Existing Networks for Video ignite technologies this month unveiled its ignite Communicator service designed to deliver large, graphics-rich files and digital content over corporate networks. The service uses a lightweight client installed on PCs that is aware of its surroundings, enabling it to adapt to network types. Security features include digital rights management, encryption, digital signatures, user authentication protocols, content parsing, and x.509 digital certificates. Ignite offers three service modules: Communicator, for providing rich-media delivery over any network; Control.IT, for delivering applications and software patches; and the Content and Communications Service, for customizing the delivery service. Annual subscriptions cost about $2.5 million for 60,000 to 80,000 seats. Ignite Communicator, IgniteIMlogic Launches IM Manager 7.0 IMlogic last week introduced Version 7.0 of its IM management, compliance, and security tool. IM Manager 7.0 is integrated with the company’s Global Threat Center, a partnership with AOL, IBM, Microsoft, and Yahoo designed to offer early IM virus and worm detection. Also new are compliance and policy enforcement capabilities; unified management of real-time services through a single dashboard; and partner integration with content security tools from McAfee, Sybari, and Symantec. IM Manager 7.0, IMlogicAprimo Ratchets Up Marketing Suite This week Aprimo will launch Version 7.0 of Aprimo Marketing, a Web-based suite of applications for enterprise marketing management. Among its new features will be a component-based architecture to allow companies to reuse and customize creative materials for print and video. New workflow capabilities will allow companies to triage if a project is affected by time, budget, or personnel changes and, if need be, enable marketing managers to redirect resources and implement a new plan. Aprimo Marketing 7.0, Aprimo Scalix Boosts E-mail, Calendaring Scalix last week rolled out a new version of its e-mail and calendaring program that features a browser-based console for administrators, with new features for managing server processes, messaging queues, and default settings. In Scalix Version 9.2 the company has also improved the product’s calendaring capabilities of its cross-platform Scalix Web Access e-mail client by including a real-time free/busy calendar lookup and interactive graphical interface.
