Deals struck with Amdocs, AT&T, Sylantro

The ramp up of VoIP continued last week as Microsoft added its considerable weight to the technology with new products and services, and with strategic alliances with Amdocs, AT&T, and Sylantro Systems.

Microsoft’s goal is to provide VoIP providers with tools and services for delivering new integrated products to the industry, with its primary offering being the Connected Services Framework SDP (service delivery platform). The Connected Services Framework will allow telecommunications operators to aggregate, provision, and manage converged communications services for their subscribers, regardless of network or device, according to Microsoft.

The strategic alliance with AT&T connects AT&T’s global IP network with Microsoft’s Connected Services Framework. Microsoft and Amdocs signed a letter of intent to jointly develop, market, and deliver products that  combines Amdocs’ consulting and implementation services and software products with Microsoft’s Connected Services Framework to deliver converged network services. Microsoft and Sylantro will develop and market enhanced VoIP solutions for telecommunications providers.
