Plans include integrating Captiva's InputAccel software into EMC's Documentum enterprise management suite

EMC Corp. has completed its purchase of document capture software vendor Captiva, the storage giant announced Friday. Captiva stockholders gave the deal their seal of approval on Dec. 23.

EMC announced plans to acquire Captiva for around US$275 million in October. The two companies already partnered on integrating Captiva’s InputAccel software into EMC’s Documentum enterprise management suite. With Captiva part of EMC, those integration efforts will intensify.

Captiva will now become part of EMC’s software group and will continue to be managed by Reynolds Bish, previously Captiva’s president and chief executive officer, according to an EMC release. Bish will report to Dave DeWalt, president of EMC’s software group.
