Enterasys adds intrusion prevention to Dragon Defense

Adopting a layered approach to network security, Enterasys Networks is adding intrusion prevention capabilities to its Dragon Intrusion Defense product. Dragon 7.1 augments the product’s existing intrusion detection with prevention features targeting internal and external network threats. Dragon core applications contain more than 250 different analysis functions, and its signature analysis engine supports approximately 4,000 signatures. Dragon 7.1 gathers data from the network, third party security systems, and hosts attaching to the network, and uses the information to respond to potential threats.

Flashline is aiming to help enterprises better manage the complexities of SOA planning and design. The company has introduced Flashline for SOA, which provides governance, registration, and lifecycle management of Web services and SOA. It focuses on architectural compliance and policy enforcement during planning and design phases of the software development lifecycle. The chain of relationships and dependencies is managed, ranging from artifacts such as WSDL and XML schemas to business processes and applications.

The growing mobile workforce has heightened the challenge of securing every network entry point. Diffusing the problem at the switch level, Lockdown Networks has released Lockdown Enforcer, a Network Access Control appliance designed to authenticate and continuously audit users and devices on the network. The appliance taps user and group policies to let companies automatically quarantine and correct noncompliant users and devices via the switch. Pricing starts at $19,995.

ISYS Search Software has announced ISYS:web 7, an enterprise search engine for public Web sites, corporate intranets, and portals. ISYS:web 7 gains on-the-fly categorization, which automatically displays categories so users can drill down quickly to the correct information, and customization tools for tailoring categories to business rules. Other features include SearchTrends, designed to parse raw search log data into reports; Web-based administration; and improved metadata searching.
