Sapient increasing staff in India, which already accounts for 54 percent of its global workforce

BANGALORE, INDIA — Sapient has moved its operations in Bangalore, India, to a larger facility and is increasing its staff in the country, the company said Wednesday.

The company’s two facilities in Bangalore and Delhi together already account for 54 percent of Sapient’s global workforce, according to the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based business consulting and technology services company.

Sapient currently employs 1,250 staff in India. Over the last five years it has developed a model that combines onshore and offshore delivery of services to customers.

Sapient moved into its new, 70,000 square-foot facility in Bangalore to meet increasing demand for its services, according to the company. The new facility will offer Sapient’s full range of services, including application design, development, management and outsourcing, it said.

With the new facility, Sapient hopes to attract new talent to the company, according to Changappa Kodendera, vice president and co-managing director of Sapient India.
