Pierre Danon is lte go after applying for another job French IT consulting group Capgemini SA fired its chief operating officer on Friday, for thinking about taking another job.COO Pierre Danon had applied for — but failed to get — a job at the head of hotel chain Accor SA, according to local newspaper reports.Word that Danon was looking elsewhere first surfaced in a report on Sept. 30. The hotel group’s nomination committee had already interviewed Danon and other candidates, according to the report in Le Figaro. At Danon’s request, Capgemini agreed not to comment on the report, and then remained silent for a week, it said in a statement Friday.Breaking its silence, the company then announced that it would terminate Danon’s contract, although he had asked to stay, because “the necessary conditions to maintain his leadership position in the Group could no longer be met.”The company has no plans to replace him in the coming months, it said.
