COMPUTER SCIENCES CORPORATION (CSC) will provide information security support throughout the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after agreeing on a 36-month, $10 million agreement with the agency’s Office of Information Systems Security (AIS), CSC officials announced on Thursday. As part of the deal, CSC will provide support for the FAA’s planning, coordination, and implementation of information systems security efforts spanning the entire agency. According to officials of El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC, the agreement serves as part of the FAA’s ongoing work to bolster security systems comprising the National Airspace System, which supports air traffic control across the United States. Part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the FAA bears primary responsibility for the safety of civil aviation. CSC security engineers from the professional services firm’s Global Information Security Services (GISS) business unit will carry out tasks outlined in the contract at nationwide FAA locations.
