POPKIN SOFTWARE THIS week announced a new version of its flagship enterprise architecture tool, System Architect, Version 9.0, which features SQL Server 2000 support and is intended to help businesses and government agencies more easily develop models and enterprise architectures. Support for the SQL Server 2000 database means the database can be used a repository for System Architect encyclopedias, according to the company. Also highlighted is expanded support for concurrent users and a beta copy of an XMI interface to enable users to more quickly export models built in other UML modeling tools to System Architect, and vice versa. An expanded enterprise data management feature gives data modelers and database administrators the ability to compare and synchronize models and databases to preserve database model integrity, Popkin said. Also supported is synchronization between Oracle 8 and SQL Server 7 or 2000 databases. New XML and HTML style sheet improvements provide for greater user control over reporting formats and customization. Software DevelopmentDatabasesTechnology IndustrySmall and Medium Business
