SWISS CM (CONTENT management) vendor Obtree Technologies this week pushed into the United States market with the release of its Obtree C4 CM architecture and Portal Suite software. The C4 platform is designed to combine CM and knowledge management by providing workflow, search, imaging, personalization, and content structuring. Rather than serving content from a file server, C4 delivers components directly out of a database. This approach, according to officials, enables companies to manage content from any source in real time. In addition, support of standards such as Java, COM, and Microsoft’s .Net streamlines the process of integrating the system with a company’s existing IT infrastructure, said officials at Obtree, which has offices in Aliso Viejo, Calif. Obtree C4 can be used with the company’s Portal Suite to manage, edit, and access disperse corporate data from a single browser-based system.
