TEAMSHARE THIS MONTH announced availability of VersionBridge, providing for integration of the company’s TeamTrack defect and issue management system with ClearCase, which is Rational’s version control tool. VersionBridge provides ClearCase users with a change management system to shorten development and deployment times, according to TeamShare. VersionBridge users can work in a unified change process and automatically record information in both TeamTrack and ClearCase without needing to duplicate data entries. The integration enables development teams to associate changes to source code control elements with TeamTrack issues and record both version control history in TeamTrack and issue information in ClearCase. Developers and other stakeholders in the development effort can find files and related item IDs in either tool. VersionBridge also enables ClearCase users to select an appropriate TeamTrack transition and move the issue to the next in the workflow, thus providing process enforcement within ClearCase. VersionBridge works with TeamTrack 5.61 and higher numbered versions and provides integration to ClearCase 4.2 and higher numbered versions.
