OCTIGON THIS WEEK introduced Version 4.0 of its Octane8 platform designed to couple content management with Web application deployment and management. Version 4.0 includes expanded workflow tracking, a new in-line editing tool, and an enhanced security model and API, according to the Birmingham, Ala.-based company. Other enhancements include multiple levels of folders and files within scripts, expanded check-in and check-out features, and an improved table editor. Octane8 aims to provide robust CM capabilities while allowing users to deploy Web applications on the same site, said Mel Blackwell, vice president of Octigon. Available May 1, Octane8 Version 4.0 is priced starting at $20,000 for a one-time licensing fee.
