Jamdat Mobile is snapped up for $680 million Game giant Electronic Arts Inc. has agreed to acquire mobile game provider Jamdat Mobile Inc. for $680 million cash, the companies announced Thursday.Jamdat Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mitch Lasky will run the combined mobile gaming businesses of Electronic Arts and Jamdat following the acquisition, which is expected to close in the first quarter of next year, said Bob Aniello, vice president of marketing at Jamdat, in Los Angeles.Electronic Arts, based in Redwood City, California, does not expect to make significant job cuts following the deal, said Jeff Brown, EA’s vice president of communications. “There is plenty of work for everybody,” he said.
