Asset-based system gets collaborative capabilities

Flashline, of Cleveland, on Monday plans to announce Flashline 4, the latest release of the company’s asset-based software engineering system that features collaborative capabilities. Cross-project collaboration enabled in Version 4 lets organizations eliminate redundant development tasks, the company said. The product also features five new FlashPacks, which are focused solutions for accelerating adoption of software initiatives including Web services, model-driven development, open source and component-based development for Java and .Net. Also new in the product is round-trip metrics, to compare predicted versus actual savings in software projects, and enterprise-class environment support to boost large-scale deployments. Flashline 4 builds on the core asset reuse, collaboration, metrics, and reporting capabilities of Flashline CMEE, which has been renamed Flashline Registry. The Flashline 4 product family will be generally available beginning in July with the release of Flashline Registry 4.0. Initial implementations start at approximately $70,000 for 75 users.
