MySQL backs AMD Opteron processors

Database also leverages QNX OS

MySQL on Tuesday announced that the MySQL open source database has been optimized to run on the 64-bit AMD Opteron processor. MySQL for Linux on the AMD Opteron is available now and enables developers to build MySQL applications for this hardware platform. The company announced that its database runs on the QNX Neutrino real-time operating system for x86 processors also. Neutrino RTOS 6.2.1 is used for building real-time applications embedded in telecommunications equipment, automotive systems, medical instrumentation, consumer electronics and other devices.
