'Athens' system features video, voice, text messaging

Microsoft Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates next week will unveil a PC prototype named “Athens,” which purports to make the computer the center for collaboration and communication. Co-developed with Hewlett-Packard, the Athens system is to be viewed at the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) in New Orleans. The box will feature advanced voice, video, and text messaging in a streamlined design, according to Microsoft.
