Alliance promises increased support for enterprise Linux users A group of leading Linux vendors are teaming together to form a community alliance, promising increased support for enterprise Linux users.The alliance was announced Monday by the Technical Support Alliance Network (TSANet) with initial participation from vendors BEA Systems, Dell, EMC, SuSE Linux, Hewlett-Packard, Unisys, Novell, Network Appliance, Veritas Software, and VMware.The Linux Open Group Relationship aims to offer collaboration on Linux standards and support issues for enterprise customers, TSANet said. The group’s formation, announced in conjunction with the LinuxWorld conference and expo in San Francisco this week, also underscores the increased popularity of Linux use within the enterprise, the vendors said.TSANet is a worldwide vendor-neutral support alliance. Founded in 1993, the group consists of more than 100 hardware and software companies. The Linux community alliance is the fourth open group community formed from TSANet, following the Microsoft Datacenter, Storage Networking Industry Association and Mission Critical Customer groups.
