Software AG tool utilizes XML to energize documents Software AG on Tuesday announced the release of PowerLynx, its new communications management product to give businesses a consolidated view of communications with employees, partners, and customers drawn from throughout an enterprise. PowerLynx employs XML to track how an organization is communicating, measures responses, and provides the means to keep multiple client communication costs in check, said Jennifer Troxell, director of product marketing for Reston, Va.-based Software AG. Troxell said interactive documents enabled by PowerLynx can be sent via Web portals, wireless devices, and e-mail. In addition, PowerLynx features pop-up boxes and menus, offers terminology and calculation explanations, and can be viewed in an offline mode. The tool’s XML flavor integrates easily with an enterprise’s existing back-end and security systems, she added. PowerLynx for the Microsoft Windows platform is available now. A Unix version is expected to arrive by mid-2003. Software Development
