MICROSOFT ON FRIDAY plans to announce the launch of a SQL Server 2000 Data Warehousing certification program for ISVs that will involve VeriTest, the testing division of LionBridge Technologies. VeriTest will evaluate applications using criteria co-designed by Microsoft to gauge compatibility with OLAP requirements, including data mining and analysis for enterprise systems. Companies with applications that meet the standards qualify for participation in the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Program for Software Products. The new certification program takes the Microsoft Data Warehousing Alliance to the next level by integrating it with the company’s Gold Certified Partner program, according to Microsoft. Microsoft formed the Microsoft Data Warehousing Alliance (DWA) in 1998 to create a community of members building business intelligence solutions with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Office 2000 or Office XP, the company said.
