WEB SERVICES INTEGRATION software vendor Iona and XML development tools vendor Altova on Monday plan to announce a partnership to bundle Altova’s xmlspy 5 suite with the Iona Orbix E2A Web Services Integration XMLBus Edition v5.4, the companies said. The Iona offering provides a software infrastructure platform for developing, deploying, integrating, and managing secure Web services to support integration of business applications in an enterprise. The Altova product supports visual design, editing, and validation of XML documents, WSDL, XML schema, and XSLT stylesheets, which are core XML infrastructure technologies for enabling Web services, the companies said. By using the products together, a developer can build and deploy Web services using either legacy code written in CORBA, EJB, or Java through use of WSDL auto-integration utilities, or develop a new Web services application using visual tools for building WSDL and XML Schema. The bundled products, available upon announcement, are priced at $1,399, including a one-year development license for Iona’s software. Software Development
