Product uses Web services to access legacy system

Software AG this week brought to market the EntireX XML Gateway, a product that enables users of the Adabas database to modernize their systems by publishing that data via XML and Web services.

The company said that there are about 1,000 customers using Adabas in the U.S., and up to 5,000 worldwide. For those users, the EntireX XML Gateway provides a Web services interface that, in turn, generates XML data so it can be accessed while remaining in an Adabas system.

Software AG’s EntireX XML Gateway is available now and costs $25,000 per server. It ships with the open source JBoss, and also run on BEA Systems’ WebLogic and IBM’s WebSphere application servers.
