Everything you always wanted to know about enterprise hardware and software … in one place

InfoWorld and Open Source Technology Group (OSTG), the parent company of such popular sites as Slashdot and SourceForge, are pleased to announce the public beta of a new resource for IT buyers.

Called the IT Product Guide, it combines expert reviews from the InfoWorld Test Center, peer reviews from OSTG, and content from vendors and third parties to create a deep database of hardware, software, and solutions.

The public beta version of the IT Product Guide already includes several hundred products (here’s one of the product pages). By the formal launch a few weeks from now, the number is expected to climb to several thousand.

We’ll have more information on the IT Product Guide as it moves toward launch, but for now we invite you to check out the current list of products as well as the featured products in the InfoWorld TechIndex section. Or take a look at the press release for additional information.

I also invite your comments on the IT Product Guide during this shakedown cruise. You can write directly to me at kevin_mckean@infoworld.com or to Matt McAlister, the product manager, at matt_mcalister@infoworld.com.

Thank you,

Kevin McKean
