Free offering due in early 2004

Web services management software vendor AmberPoint on Wednesday is announcing Java versions of its AmberPoint Express developer tool for monitoring and debugging Web services.

AmberPoint Express provides monitoring and management capabilities to ensure that Web services meet enterprise standards for performance and reliability, the company said. AmberPoint Express is a free developer’s edition of the company’s Web services management solutions, providing monitoring and diagnostic capabilities for developers to gain insight in the runtime characteristics of their Web services in pre-production environments, AmberPoint said.

Initial Java versions are being built for the IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic and Apache Axis platforms and will be generally available in the first quarter of 2004.

A version of the product for the Microsoft .Net Framework was announced in October.
