Operation raises no competitive concerns, EU says The European Commission Monday gave the go-ahead for U.S.-based Tech Data’s acquisition of Azlan Group, the U.K. networking services company.The Commission investigated the market for distribution of IT products and the indirect distribution of data networking products, which is where the European Union’s competition regulator suspected the firms’ activities would overlap.“The operation does not raise any serious competition concerns on these product markets regardless of whether the market is national or European,” the Commission concluded. Tech Data is a distributor of PC-related hardware and software products to computer retailers throughout the U.S., Canada, Latin America, theCaribbean and in Europe. The firm offers after-sale support, training and financial services to its customers.Azlan is a U.K.-based, pan-European distributor of networking products. Its business also consists of offering networking-related services, and it operates in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K. Technology Industry
