Knowledge management vendor buys ActionBase Kamoon this week announced it has acquired ActionBase, a provider of project and process management software based in San Francisco, Calif. Designed to run on top of an e-mail system, a browser, or a portal, Kamoon’s line of software offerings combine collaboration and knowledge management to facilitate expertise management, according to Yali Harari, president and CEO of Kamoon, in Fort Lee, N.J.Technology from ActionBase will be incorporated into the Kamoon’s Connect products, adding the capability to track project results, tasks, decisions, and action items that flow from the knowledge sharing process, according to company officials. Dubbed Connect Actions, the new product provides virtual communities around projects, meetings, or other collaborative activities. The combined product offering aims to enable knowledge exchange in the context of worker processes by identifying who worked on a similar project and what steps were taken to complete a project.
