Web-based product reduces time-to-market and code review efforts

QA Systems on Tuesday will announce a quality control offering for Java source code, QStudio for Java Enterprise. The Web-based product allows software process managers and developers to inspect and control the quality of the code, the company said.

Based on QA’s QStudio product, the software enables automated quality control of source code and specifies quality concepts in a measurable way based on an extended version of the ISO 9126 quality standard, according to QA Systems.

High-level software attributes are recognized such as reliability, maintainability, testability, reusability, portability, and efficiency. Software process managers can tie software development quality control processes deeper and earlier into the development process than previously possible, the company said. This reduces time-to-market and code review efforts.

A beta version of QStudio for Java Enterprise is available for evaluation download, and an online demo can be viewed at www.qa-systems.com/enterprisedemo.

The product can run as a stand-alone offering or integrate with Java IDEs such as Borland JBuilder, Oracle 9i JDeveloper, Eclipse, or IBM WebSphere Studio. The product is priced at $295 for the client and $2,950 for the server product.
