LDAP software is boosted

Thor Technologies has adapted its Xellerate secure enterprise provisioning system to work with Oracle’s identity repository for its Oracle9i platform, Oracle Internet Directory, the companies announced Wednesday.

Oracle Internet Directory is an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) system that can be synchronized with other identity repositories and also with personnel databases such as Oracle Human Resources, according to its Redwood Shores, California, developer.

Xellerate is used to manage user access rights and privileges across networked enterprise applications. Software adapters to connect Xellerate with Oracle Internet Directory are available now, New York-based Thor said in a statement.

Although Thor has developed adapters for Oracle Internet Directory, it also offers a toolkit to allow companies to develop their own adapters for custom applications. Adapter Factory maps the Xellerate provisioning process onto the target application’s configuration system and generates the code necessary to integrate the two, according to Thor.
