Development tool enhanced

Telelogic on Monday is announcing dynamic requirements management capabilities for software development, through the unveiling of DOORS/ERS 7.0

The company defines dynamic requirements management as the practice of managing an evolving set of requirements within a complex, incremental/iterative development project. DOORS/ERS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements Enterprise Requirements Suite) provides for this capability through features such as Intelligent Traceability, Proactive Suspect Links and an Enterprise Change Proposal System to provide for requirements visibility, collaboration and validation.

Used primarily in industries such as defense, avionics and automotive, DOORS provides a multi-platform, enterprise system for capturing, linking, tracing and managing changes to information to ensure a project’s compliance to specified requirements and standards, Telelogic said.

“The big difference between previous releases and [version 7.0] is it supports dynamic requirements management,” said Richard Watson, product manager for Requirements Management Tools at Telelogic, which has its U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Calif.

DOORS 7.0 is available now and runs on Microsoft Windows platforms, Hewlett-Packard HP-UX and Sun Microsystems Solaris.
