Plus: Kwheezy 1.3 screenshot tour, and how to install Ubuntu 13.10 Fedora 20 Delayed The Fedora 20 beta and final release have been delayed another week, according to Phoronix. The release of Fedora 20 has been delayed by another week — both the due-out beta and the final release — over unresolved bugs. Fedora 20 Beta was delayed one week ago and yesterday it was decided to delay it by another week — and to push back all development milestones by one week as a result. Now we need to wait until next week to see if Fedora 20 Beta is ready to ship (currently hoped for on 12 November) and as of right now it’s looking like Fedora 20 “Heisenbug” final will end up being a mid-December release. More at Phoronix I understand the disappointment that might be felt by some Fedora users who were looking forward to Fedora 20, but it’s far better for the bugs to be fixed before a final release. It saves everybody headaches in the long run. Kwheezy 1.3 Screenshot Tour The Coding Studio has a screenshot tour of Kwheezy 1.3. Kwheezy version 1.3 is now available from the download page. This release focuses on improving the installation and post-install process. Also there is quite a bit of tidying up and polishing. Changes in version 1.3: Updated to Debian 7.2; added GPT partitioning support to the installer (requires BIOS/Legacy boot); a new post-installation wizard adds polish, hopefully the need to add a regular user account will be clearer; a few redundant (duplicate functionality) applications have been removed; the administrator account has UID/GID changed to 999, so the first real user will be 1000; the menu has been tidied up, so it should be easier to browse; Kwheezy Keyboard Selector now has a text box for testing the new configuration.
