So... new mainboard for groove today. It's a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Ultra. Nice board... the onboard Promise RAID controller seemed to be causing problems with the Promise SuperTrak SX-6000 that runs groove's 240GB array. Disabled that and the system booted on the first try. The ThermalTake Volcano 9 CPU cooler was a challenge to seat with this board, but I finally got it installed, powered only by expletives. I also

Nice board… the onboard Promise RAID controller seemed to be causing problems with the Promise SuperTrak SX-6000 that runs groove’s 240GB array. Disabled that and the system booted on the first try. The ThermalTake Volcano 9 CPU cooler was a challenge to seat with this board, but I finally got it installed, powered only by expletives. I also ran the CPU thermal sensor, which is a bit sketchy, but hasn’t caused problems yet. The sensor may not be working though, as the CPU fan hasn’t come down from 4800RPM at all…
