Is next year the year of Nokia?

Nokia’s been working harder than the Bush administration to wrap up as many loose ends as possible before the end of the year, flooding the news feeds with information on several highly anticipated handsets.

First, we saw a U.S. release of both the N79 and the N85 — only a few months later than the previously expected October release. The N79 gets you a 2.4-inch screen, a 4GB in-box MicroSD card, built-in GPS (with AGPS support), and a slew of media-sharing capabilities. The N85 shells out a bit more: a 2.6-inch OLED screen, 8GB of microSD storage, and GPS with Nokia Maps 2.0. Both phones have FM transmitters, 5-megapixel cameras, the Nokia Music Center, and photo sharing via Ovi. Because the phones aren’t carrier-branded (or subsidized), prices will vary, but expect to shell out roughly $550 for the N85 and about $400 for the N79. Also, some sites show either the N85 or the N79 to be backordered or temporarily out of stock, so it might take some searching to nab the one you’re after.

Then the E63 had a grand unboxing on video — albeit not in English, so unless you speak Bulgarian, this is all about visuals (and some ambient background music). Like a Corvette, the E63 is shiny and a sexy shade of candy-apple red. The end result? A lot of people are going to be eager to get their hands on the E63 after watching this video — although Nokia hasn’t yet given a U.S. release date.

Also, Mobile Review treated us to an incredibly detailed look at the N97 (complete with video and a table of contents), which is going to make waiting until May very difficult for some folks.
