Consumerist is running a great piece "22 Confessions Of A Former Dell Sales Manager" that proves you're not crazy for thinking Dell pricing is arbitrary and random. We used to play a game at GLC where I would make everyone try and order the same item going down the SMB, Home, and Mid-size business to see who would get the best price. In the long run the best pricing always came from the Dell reps. Not surprising
