AccuRev Announces Support for Virtualization Software

AccuRev, a provider of process-centric software configuration management (SCM) solutions, offers a best-of-breed approach to application lifecycle management (ALM).

According to the company, this approach enables unlimited, adaptable, and compliant process models offering customers maximum flexibility and control. The AccuRev interface, with integrated issue-based workflow, advanced visualization, process automation, and artifact traceability improves collaboration, visibility and management of parallel and distributed development for geographically distributed and outsourced teams to remain agile and competitive.

The company recently announced that its AccuRev SCM solution has been qualified to run on virtual machines. Interestingly, they announced support for VMware and Sun Solaris 10 Zones from Sun Microsystems.

And according to their press release, the AccuRev server application, which runs on most Microsoft Windows, Linux and Unix platforms, does not embed itself into the operating system (OS) kernel and does not require special I/O services so it does not have to be installed on an isolated server. This improves an organization’s strategic initiative to leverage computing resources and makes it much easier to maintain in a modern IT infrastructure than many traditional SCM tools.
