United Airlines, my carrier of choice, sent me an email this week indicating that they are now going to offer a special reward for flyers who achieve a million miles lifetime flying on United. Having flown over 900,000 miles with United so far, I am close to achieving this milestone in the next year. But if the rewards encourage more air travel, I'm not sure it's such a good thing.
