This is in addition to the fact that you have to pay for meals, curbside check-in, making changes to reservations and redeeming frequent flyer awards. In what is clearly a sign of a business that doesn’t understand its customers, United Airlines has decided to start charging domestic customers $25 for checking a second bag. This is in addition to the fact that you have to pay for meals, curbside check-in, making changes to reservations and redeeming frequent flyer awards. If United could figure out how to charge for using the restroom on flights I’m sure they’d do that too.

I’m a Premier Exec on United so while I won’t be charged for checking a second bag (which honestly, I think it’s pretty rare that I check one bag, let alone two) I’m sure we’ll see more people trying to cram more carry on luggage into the already crowded overhead compartments.

I think United deserves some sort of award here for coming up with a program that is sure to anger their best customers. And guess what, your share price fell 5% today. Good job, guys!
