In an effort to save a sacred cow named Shambo from execution at the hands of local health officials, monks at the Skanda Vale ashram in Wales have set up a Webcam to wrangle sympathy for the endangered quadraped. Its name: MooTube, of course.

There you can see Shambo eating, standing around, and expelling methane (or at least you could until this morning, when the camera went offline — probably due to excessive traffic caused by a snarky write-up in The Register). In other words, not all that different than most Webcams, except that Shambo starts out naked.

Shambo tested positive for Bovine Tuberculosis, which is apparently a capital offense in Wales. The monks believe he’ll recover nicely and have started an online petition to save Shambo from being turned into quarter pounders. If that doesn’t work, they may have to rely on bovine intervention.
