Red Hat buys JBoss…Who did not see that coming?

“Red Hat, a provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire JBoss, the global leader in open source middleware. “

So, the open source guy is buying the open source guy, seems logical to me. Indeed, many are looking at this “SOA in a box” solution as something that could give Microsoft, Oracle, and IBM a run for their money. By the way, giving those guys a run for their money is a good way to get bought. However, Red Hat won’t go cheap, that’s for sure.
