HQ 4.0 helps monitor in-house and cloud-based apps using Amazon EC2

Hyperic continues to do amazing things in the area of application peformance monitoring. Its latest version of HQ 4.0 can now work with applications in the datacenter, as well as applications “in the cloud” at Amazon. As applications continue to scale with hosted SaaS systems, the monitoring and management capabilities become even more critical. No one wants to find out from a customer or user that the application is down or performance has slowed to a crawl. With HQ, you can stay ahead of the game.

HQ 4.0 adds new capabilities for capacity planning to make it easier to keep up with anticipated growth. There’s also a number of improvements in the user interface, new plug-ins for a broad range of open source and closed source middleware and apps, and automated agent upgrades. This goes way beyond the original CloudStatus.com dashboard to look at your applications, not just the fundamentals of the cloud provider.

If you’ve been wondering how to monitor a disparate middleware infrastructure or how to plan for cloud-based apps, take a look at this new release from Hyperic.
