Startup Embotics looks to the future and appoints virtualization expert Stephen Pollack to its advisory board

In a smart and decisive move, Embotics reached out to Stephen Pollack, former CEO of PlateSpin, to offer help and advice to the virtualization lifecycle management company. Pollack is well known in the virtualization industry, and he has more than 25 years of relevant experience to offer the Embotics startup.

On March 31, 2008, Novell acquired long time virtualization company and leading P2V solution provider, PlateSpin, for $205 million in a cash transaction. In October of this year, PlateSpin’s founder and CEO decided to leave his old startup company, but like many of us in the virtualization community, he found it difficult to stay away from this technology and what it offers organizations.

On Tuesday, Embotics announced that they were able to secure Pollack as its latest member of their advisory board. With Pollack’s addition on the board, the company hopes the Advisory Board will provide them with guidance, direction, organization and strategy for its product line and its company growth.

“Stephen’s significant experience will enable Embotics to continue its rapid growth and expansion in the virtualization management space, and we are eager to complement the strength of our Advisory Board with his appointment,” said Jay Litkey, CEO of Embotics. “His success in launching and managing companies from startup to acquisition and first hand knowledge of the virtualization marketplace will be an extremely valuable addition to the Embotics organization.”
