Reporting on the trends in open source business

The annual North Bridge Venture Partners OSBC “Future of Open Source” survey is now open. The survey results will be presented at the OSBC conference on March 24 by Michael Skok, a general partner and all-around good guy from North Bridge.

The survey results are presented in one of the keynote sessions along with color commentary by panelists from the open source industry. This year the panel includes my old boss Marten Mickos, former CEO of MySQL; John Lilly, CEO of Mozilla; John Roberts, CEO of SugarCRM; Ron Hovsepian, CEO Novell; and hard-core techie Dries Buytaert, founder of Drupal.org and CTO of Acquia.

BTW, despite the economic downturn, it looks like open source will be a hot conference topic this spring. Both OSBC and the MySQL Conference & Expo are selling faster than in prior years and may end up in a sold out situation. So I recommend registering early to take advantage of early registration discounts.

Here’s the survey link once again. Takes about 5 minutes and if you’re on hand you’ll also get an iTunes gift card.

(Also, sorry that this got double posted.)
